The Social Dilemma

 

 

    The Social Dilemma directed by Jeff Orlowiski was released in 2020 on Netflix. The documentary focuses on interviews with previous employees of large tech companies such as Facebook, Google, and Twitter. The people being interviewed gave us, the viewers, an inside look at the scary realty of how these big tech companies aspire to get consumers addicted to their products or services without any care for the impact it could have on people.

     This documentary is worth watching even if you don’t use much tech. These large companies still perceivably rule the online world, and the Social Dilemma gives such a detailed inside look at the reality of what some large tech companies don't want their consumers to see but what they deserve to see. As a consumer myself and someone that uses all the company’s applications it was very eye opening at how deceiving they really are.
